As Hanna recently attested to Amoeba, “The record that changed my life was Faster, Frightwig, Kill! Kill!.” The band’s second album, first released in 1986, took its name from the title of a 1965 exploitation film, Faster, Pussycat, Kill! Kill! Which certainly sets the tone for the revolutionary record.
Director Russ Meyer was a master of exploitation cinema, and Faster, Pussycat! Kill! It revolves around three go-go dancers with a penchant for violence and fast cars.
Having already made his opinions clear on Meyer’s oeuvre by writing in his memoirs: “Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! is, beyond a doubt, the best movie ever made,” Waters took a moment to shine a light on what’s comfortably second on his personal pile and arguably its director’s masterpiece.

The original name is the derogatory Thai term for a foreigner, and it came without any extraneous punctuation. Does it deserve its exclamation point?
