11 mag 2024 · Kun Paasikivi valittiin presidentiksi 1946, Maalaisliitto esitti Kekkosta pääministeriksi, mutta SKDL:n vastustus esti aikeen. Kekkonen nimitettiin kuitenkin Suomen Pankin johtokuntaan ja myöhemmin eduskunnan ensimmäiseksi varapuhemieheksi 2. huhtikuuta.
