Princess Caroline of Nassau-Usingen. Princess Augusta of Hesse-Kassel (Augusta Wilhelmina Louisa; 25 July 1797 – 6 April 1889) was the wife of Prince Adolphus, Duke of Cambridge, the tenth-born child, and seventh son, of George III of the United Kingdom and Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz.
Auguste Sophie Friederike Marie Caroline Julie of Hesse-Kassel (30 October 1823 – 17 July 1889), known as Princess Augusta, was a Princess of Hesse-Kassel, a daughter of Prince William of Hesse-Kassel (1787–1867) and Princess Charlotte of Denmark (1789-1864). She spent most of her life in Denmark.
Description. Princess Augusta (1797-1889) was the third daughter of Frederick, Landgrave of Hesse-Cassel, and Caroline Polyxene of Nassau-Usingen. In 1818, she married Adolphus, Duke of Cambridge. They had three children.
