Some of these names really do sound fake, and this list doesn't even include programs that dropped athletics but didn't close (such as St. Francis Brooklyn who were D1) or dropped down below NAIA (D2 Paine dropped to NCCAA), or D2 LIU Post who's athletic programs got merged into D1 LIU Brooklyn's but still remain two separate campuses.
27 apr 2024 · On Friday, April 27, the University of St. Katherine announced it was entering bankruptcy proceedings and ceasing operations at the end of the semester. The small (about 300 students) school in San Marcos is one of the few Christian colleges in the Eastern Orthodox tradition. USK was founded in 2010, and competed in 13 sports.
