3 mag 2024 · In watching this film, I alternated between boredom and intrigue as they told a story of the aspirational resurgence of the typewriter. They followed the story of one local shop, called “California Typewriter” where a couple of men collect, repair, and sell typewriters.
Hi! I was browsing the subreddit when I heard California Typewriter, a California typewriter repair shop (probably the last of its kind) mentioned in a post. California Typewriter is a main feature of this documentary which I am only now realizing only has 22k views. What!? I loved it, take your time to watch it, its really good!
In the documentary California Typewriter there was a scene in which Ken Alexander took a couple of machines in a small wagon to a self-serve car wash and sprayed them down with a hand-held pressurized water gun to clean them out, presumably after removing ribbons, felt, etc. Has anyone tried this out with a machine themselves?
