3 mag 2024 · After Darwin moved to Down House in Kent in 1842, Mr Williams, the family physician, prescribed wine when he had bouts of ill-health; in 1858 Darwin wrote to one of his sons that “Mr Williams has ordered me a jolly prescription of two glasses of wine at dinner & he wished me to take three.”
