M de Luynes, whose full name is Charles-Philippe d’Albert de Luynes, is the head of the senior branch of the family and M de Chaulnes of the junior one. The château of Chaulnes no longer exists.

Petit", was a docteur-régent of the Paris Faculty of Medicine, and the one-time personal physician to the King's brother, Charles Philippe, Comte d’Artois – who, later (following the Bourbon Restoration in France) became King Charles X.
