Son deuxième opéra-comique, Couvin, ou Jean de Chimay, est donné au château de Chimay. Il est interprété encore une fois par des amateurs, parmi lesquels François Joseph de Riquet de Caraman-Chimay, Comte de Camaran et plus tard Prince de Chimay, et son épouse, l’ancienne merveilleuse, Mme Tallien.
