As Zamindar Babu, Tagore criss-crossed the Padma River in command of the Padma, the luxurious family barge (also known as "budgerow"). He collected mostly token rents and blessed villagers who in turn honoured him with banquets—occasionally of dried rice and sour milk.

Garg is also a 2020 National Student Poet , appointed by a panel of judges that included Danez Smith and U.S. Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera.
