Ferocious Pyrrhus stands upright on the helpless body of Polite lying on the ground, and snatches Polyxena from the arms of her mother Hecuba who tries to keep her daughter to herself.

13 giu 2024 · Carlo Emanuele’s second wife was Polyxena of Hesse-Rheinfels-Rotenburg, daughter of Ernst Leopold, Landgrave of Hesse-Rheinfels-Rotenburg and Eleonore of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rochefort. Polyxena was the first cousin of Carlo Emanuele’s first wife and belonged to the only Roman Catholic branch of the reigning House of Hesse.
