Monsieur Vénus è il romanzo che portò al successo Rachilde, ovvero la scrittrice francese Marguerite Eymery, nel 1884 ma che destò enorme scandalo all'epoca. Esso infatti fu giudicato un po' troppo erotico e per questo motivo fu censurato. Le edizioni successive vennero di conseguenza tagliate e modificate.
