17 mag 2024 · Originally known as the Great Spring Show, Chelsea adopted its current moniker in 1913, when nurseryman Sir Harry Veitch secured the grounds of the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, for the event. That first show was a charitable affair and the modest profit of £88 (£4,000 in today’s money) was distributed among gardening charities.
