3 giorni fa · In just a few years we have promoted the collision model from an exotic channel, thought to be too rare to be observed, to one of the leading candidates for type Ia progenitors. I have been awarded 500K euro for the years 2017-2021 by the Pazi foundation to conduct the computational part of a project aims at direct comparison of the 56 Ni distribution to observations.

6 mag 2024 · I risultati più recenti sulla stima di questa constante suggeriscono una tensione a livello di otto sigma tra la stima diretta basata su un campione locale di 42 supernove di tipo Ia calibrate con cefeidi classiche (H0=73.04±1.04 km/s/Mpc) e la stima della stessa costante basata sulla radiazione cosmica di fondo del satellite Planck (H0=67.4±0.5 km/s/Mpc).
5 giorni fa · SUPERNOVAE AGGIORNAMENTI. Questo mese purtroppo non abbiamo da segnalare nessuna scoperta amatoriale. Ci possiamo però consolare con un nuovo successo messo a segno dall’esperta coppia di astrofili Mirco Villi e Michele Mazzucato, che collaborano ormai da diversi anni con i professionisti americani del CRTS Catalina.
