George I (German: Georg Friedrich Karl; 4 February 1761 – 24 December 1803), was Duke of Saxe-Meiningen from 21 July 1782 until his death in 1803. He was known as a reformer and considered a model prince by many of his peers.
George II. George II, Duke of Saxe-Meiningen (2 April 1826 – 25 June 1914), was the penultimate Duke of Saxe-Meiningen, reigning from 1866 to 1914. For his support for his successful court theatre he was also known as the Theaterherzog (theatre duke).

Herzog Georg II. von Sachsen-Meiningen (* 2. April 1826 in Meiningen; † 25. Juni 1914 in Bad Wildungen ), auch bekannt als „Theaterherzog“, war regierender Herzog des Herzogtums Sachsen-Meiningen. Er gilt als Reformer und Förderer der Theaterkunst, betätigte sich als Theaterleiter, Regisseur und Bühnenbildner.
