He was a founding member of The Victorian Society and a passionate defender of Victorian architecture, helping to save St Pancras railway station from demolition.

5 giorni fa · The author did discover that the late Sir John Betjeman, the poet laureate who was a passionate defender of Victorian architecture, supported Horace. In the 1970s Betjeman teamed up with the Victorian Society to save Horace’s work, notably Smithfield and Billingsgate markets.
