6 giorni fa · Karn, Mick. Born as Anthony Michaelides, 24 July 1958, in Cyprus. Emigrated to England at the age of three. Mick Karn first came to attention as the bassist in ’80s UK hit group, Japan. Their demise in late 1982 coincided with the release of Karn’s first solo work, ‘Titles’.

6 giorni fa · Mick recorded Japan’s last studio album “Tin Drum” with the Wal and had continued to use these, along with a headless Klein K Bass. In early Japan days he also used an Ibanez bass during live exhibitions.

12 giu 2024 · David Torn liefert typische Ambient-Klangbögen, dazu aber immer wieder auch seltsam quietschende und sägende Klänge, die der Musik dann einen avantgardistischen Touch verleihen. Karn und Bozzio sind keine bloßen Rhythmusgeber, sondern stehen mit knarzendem, hüpfendem Bass und geschäftigem Schlagzeug gleichberechtigt daneben.
