The original stucco ceiling has been preserved, it was cleaned and painted, however, one corner of the historic look can still be seen.

Nicholas‘ disastrous handling of the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905 and his brutal suppression of the 1905 Russian Revolution further eroded public support for the monarchy.
