John Weathers. John Patrick 'Pugwash' Weathers (born 7 February 1947) is a retired Welsh rock drummer, best known for playing with the progressive rock band Gentle Giant . Early life. Born in Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire, Wales, he moved to Swansea until, aged 15, he went to live with his aunt in Liverpool, just as the Merseybeat scene exploded.

20 ott 2015 · Gentle Giant drummer John ‘Pugwash’ Weathers has been diagnosed with cancer, former bandmate Kerry Minnear has confirmed. The 68-year-old has been battling against spinocerebellar ataxia, a condition similar to multiple sclerosis, for some years.
