www .neoldavies .com. Neol Edward Davies (born 26 April 1952) [1] is an English musician, composer and original member and founder of 2 tone ska revival band the Selecter . Born in Coventry, [1] Davies wrote the instrumental tune "The Selecter" from which the band got their name in 1979.
Neol Davies penned all of the Selecter's hit singles. He started up his own home studio after the band disbanded in 1981 to write and record his own new songs, and he played a number of local shows in the Midlands while teaching guitar in local schools.
Founder, guitarist and main songwriter of The Selecter during 1979-1981. In 1991 he reformed band with Pauline Black but left a year later. In the 90's he performed as Selecter Instrumental, worked on his first Blues orientated solo album and released it on his own label.
