Silenced è tratto da fatti realmente accaduti: una storiaccia di maltrattamenti e di abusi psicologici e sessuali su bambini sordomuti di un istituto che ha sconvolto la Corea del Sud nel 2005 a tal punto da far cambiare la normativa vigente sugli abusi perpetrati contro i minori.
