Ranking Roger is best known for his work with Dave Wakeling in both The Beat and General Public. “Radical Departure” was released in 1988 and at the time it surprised me. I had assumed that it would be a record of toasting and ska/reggae. But it isn’t - in fact you have 11 songs which for the most part are a very good mixture of pop & rock.
