Janet Ertel nata Janet Buschmann ( Sheboygan, 21 settembre 1913 – Sheboygan, 22 novembre 1988) è stata una cantante statunitense, specializzata in musica popolare, solitamente di genere doo-wop, eseguita con canto a cappella.
Janet Ertel married Bleyer in 1954. Her daughter Jackie married another Cadence recording star, Phil Everly of The Everly Brothers. The Chordettes appeared on American Bandstand on August 5, 1957, the first episode of that show to be broadcast nationally on the ABC Television Network.

Osborn and three friends (Janet Ertel, Alice Mae Buschmann Spielvogel, and Dorothy Schwartz) formed the Chordettes in 1946, with Osborn singing tenor. Alice Spielvogel was replaced by Carol Buschmann, her sister-in-law, in 1947.
