WOW is the debut solo studio album by American singer Wendy O. Williams, released in 1984 by Passport Records. It is her first album appearance after the success with The Plasmatics, which had gone on a hiatus during that time.

Recorded by KISS in 1982 during the "Creatures Of The Night" sessions, but at the time the song never had a vocal track put on it. In 1983 Simmons took the KISS track and add Wendy O' Williams vocals to it. Originally titled "When The Legends Dies", credited to Micki Free and Gene Simmons.
In 1984, she released the W.O.W. album, produced by Gene Simmons of Kiss. Kiss members Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley, and Eric Carr, also perform on the album. Gene Simmons brought in Michael Ray to play lead guitar; Ray was previously auditioning on Creatures of the Night studio solos.

17 nov 2020 · It was written by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons which is rare at this time that they would write a song together as they normally wrote separately. Wendy attacks with all her heart and she does a great job.
