  1. Kyuss / Queens of the Stone Age. (1997) Gamma Ray is the debut EP by Gamma Ray, a musical project by former Kyuss guitarist Josh Homme, released in 1996 by Man's Ruin Records. After the breakup of Kyuss in 1995, Homme recorded the Gamma Ray material in Seattle with producer Chris Goss, bassist Van Conner, and drummer Victor Indrizzo.

    Gamma Ray is the self-titled EP released by Josh Homme's project post-Kyuss under Man's Ruin Records. The band known as Gamma Ray would soon change their name to Queens of the Stone Age, under the threat of being sued by a German heavy metal band of the same name. The EP was released circa 1996.     2000 copies were pressed on clear vinyl. One thousand of these have a "G" and a ray in the center and the other thousand have several black circles with gray straight-forward superimposed on them. The vinyl pressing of Gamma Ray is very rare, since it has been produced on a short demand before Gamma Ray would become QOTSA and Man's Ruin Records has gone under.

    The insert in one of the two pressings says: "READ THIS : This is the Gamma ray featuring Josh HOMME of KYUSS fame. It is NOT that guy from HELLOWEEN or whatever"

  2. The Queens of the Stone Age tracks "If Only Everything" and "Born to Hula" had been released by Man's Ruin in 1996 on the Gamma Ray 7". Homme initially chose the name Gamma Ray for this new band but received a cease and desist order from a German band who were already using the name.
