Based in Nagoya, Aichi, Japan, Hoshino Gakki were one of the first Japanese musical instrument companies to gain a significant foothold in import guitar sales in the United States and Europe, as well as the first brand of guitars to mass-produce the seven-string guitar and eight-string guitar.
HISTORY. 1908. Established Musical instrument sales division of Hoshino Shoten (=bookstore) 1929. Established Hoshino Gakki Ten Inc. (=the future Hoshino Gakki Co., Ltd.) 1935. Began to manufacture stringed instruments in Nagoya. 1955. Constructed the current building of "Hoshino Gakki Ten" at N0. 3-22, Shumokucho, Higashiku, Nagoya.
