Quartered arms of William Bentinck, 2nd Duke of Portland, KG. William Bentinck, 2nd Duke of Portland KG (1 March 1709 – 1 May 1762), styled Viscount Woodstock from 1709 to 1716 and Marquess of Titchfield from 1716 to 1726, was a British peer and politician.
La carriera politica. Fu un deputato al parlamento inglese per la sede di Petersfield tra il 1790 e il 1791 e per il Buckinghamshire tra il 1791 e il 1809 e servì sotto suo padre come Lord of the Treasury tra il marzo ed il settembre del 1807. Ad aprile del 1827 è stato nominato Lord del Sigillo Privato da suo cognato George Canning.

William Henry Cavendish Cavendish-Bentinck, 3rd Duke of Portland, KG, PC, FRS (14 April 1738 – 30 October 1809) was a British Whig and then a Tory politician during the late Georgian era. He served as chancellor of the University of Oxford (1792–1809) and as Prime Minister of Great Britain (1783) and then of the United Kingdom (1807–1809).
Successore di Lord Rockingham come capo dei whigs, primo ministro nell'anno 1783, poi segretario di stato per gli Affari Interni con Pitt durante la guerra contro la Francia rivoluzionaria, fu ancora primo ministro nel 1807-09. Uomo politico inglese (Bulstrode presso Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, 1738 - ivi 1809).
