The Phil Silvers Show, originally titled You'll Never Get Rich, is a sitcom which ran on the CBS Television Network from 1955 to 1959. A pilot titled "Audition Show" was made in 1955, but it was never broadcast. 143 other episodes were broadcast – all half-an-hour long except for a 1959 one-hour live special. [1]

Studio CBS Television Studios. Genres Comedy. Classic military comedy set on the fictional Army base of Fort Baxter in Kansas and starred Phil Silvers as Sgt. Ernest Bilko, a fast-talking sharpster who would do anything to make an extra buck.
Bilko tries to get raises for Fort Baxter from Senate investigators. Bilko becomes a babysitter when he forges paperwork to allow one of his privates to spend time with his wife. Bilko changes his ways when he learns that an ancestor served with George Washington in the American Revolution.
