Overview. I recently retired as a Professor of Linguistics, where my primary areas of research have been corpus linguistics, language change and genre-based variation, the design and optimization of linguistic databases, and frequency analyses (all for English, Spanish, and Portuguese).

English Corpora: most widely used online corpora. Billions of words of data: free online access. Mark Davies created these corpora at BYU (Brigham Young University), starting in 2004. During this time, they were available online at corpus.byu.edu, and they were known as the "BYU Corpora".
