1987's High Priest was the first full length solo record for Alex Chilton since 1979's ground shaking Like Flies on Sherbert. It showed Alex in full control of his faculties as both a musician and a musicologist. He leads a solid band of Memphis/ New Orleans studio heavyweights through 4 newly penned originals and a well curated list of covers.
With 1987's High Priest, Chilton released his first full-length LP in eight years, for which he served as producer and wrote four new songs.
