30 giu 2023 · Chaka Khan (real name Yvette Marie Stevens) is an icon of R&B, funk, and soul music in every sense of the word. She's created a legendary body of work to prove it across her five-decade career, and is still releasing vibrant records to this day.
She attributed her love of music to her grandmother, who introduced her to jazz as a child. Khan became a fan of rhythm and blues music as a preteen and at eleven formed a girl group, the Crystalettes, which included her sister Taka.

Chaka Khan discography. American R&B / soul singer Chaka Khan has released thirteen albums during her solo career. Her first solo single was "I'm Every Woman", also released in 1978. She has released a total of 46 solo singles throughout her career.
Following the release of the Chaka album Khan reunited with Rufus for the recording of 1979's Masterjam, produced by Quincy Jones. Her second solo album Naughty followed in 1980. The Chaka album was re-released on CD in the United States by the Warner Music Group in 1998.
