Rupert I of Laurenburg, German: Ruprecht I. von Laurenburg (died before 13 May 1154), was count of Laurenburg and one of the ancestors of the House of Nassau.
It is possible that Rupert was already Count of Laurenburg, but he isn't mentioned as such in any charter. Perhaps Rupert was a son of Adelhart, who is mentioned in a charter from 1048 as Vogt at Haiger for the Abbey of Worms. Rupert was the father of Dudo of Laurenburg.
16 giu 2024 · Rupert I of Laurenburg, a son of Dudo, married Beatrix of Limburg, establishing the Nassaus’ first connection to the Netherlands. More connections were to follow over the next few centuries. His grandsons, Rupert II and Walram I, were the first to have themselves named count of Nassau around 1160.

7 feb 2017 · Dudo was probably a son of Rupert (German: Ruprecht), the Archbishop of Mainz’s Vogt in Siegerland. Dudo is mentioned as Tuto de Lurinburg between 1093 and 1117.[1] In a charter dated 1134 (after his death) he is mentioned as Count of Laurenburg.[1]
