Evaline Ness (April 24, 1911 – August 12, 1986) [1] was an American commercial artist, illustrator, and author of children's books. She illustrated more than thirty books for young readers and wrote several of her own. [ 2 ]

Evaline Ness (1911-1986) was a prolific and versatile artist who illustrated more than thirty children's books and won the Caldecott Medal for Sam, Bangs and Moonshine. She was also married to Eliot Ness, the famous former U.S. Treasury agent and "Untouchable".
