Na'ila bint al-Furafisa (Arabic: نائلة بنت الفرافصة, romanized: Nāʾila bint al-Furāfiṣa) was the wife of the third caliph Uthman (r. 644–656). She narrated many Hadith including eye witness accounts of the assassination of Uthman. Biography

26 apr 2022 · Nāʾila bint al-Furāfiṣa (Arabic: نائلة بنت الفرافصة) was the wife of Uthman, the third Caliph of the Islamic Empire. She was born into a Christian family in Kufa but was converted to Islam by Aisha. In 28 AH (649 CE), she married Uthman, who had succeeded to the Caliphate in 644.
Uthman married a Kalbite noblewoman, Na'ila bint al-Furafisa, a paternal cousin of Tumadir bint al-Asbagh. Na'ila's sister, Hind, was married to Uthman's Umayyad kinsman, the governor Sa'id ibn al-As.
