The Shoes was een Nederlandse band uit Zoeterwoude die furore maakte in de hitparade vanaf 1966. Achtergrond. De groep werd in 1963 opgericht als The White Shoes. Tijdelijk Double You geheten (zonder Van Es). Hits waren onder andere Na na na, Don't you cry for a girl en Osaka. Laatste single Who am I verscheen in 1975.

Theo van Es (born Leiden, The Netherlands, 1946) is the former frontman of Dutch sixties band, The Shoes. Known for his rough, smokey voice he will be remembered as the man who sang Dutch chart hits such as 'Na Na Na', 'Don't You Cry For A Girl' and 'Osaka'.
