Romantic Depressive is an album by the American musician Don Dixon, released in 1995 via Sugar Hill Records. [1] [2] The album was part of an attempt by Sugar Hill to expand its roster beyond a traditional acoustic style. [3] . Dixon supported the album with a North American tour that included shows opening for Hootie & the Blowfish.

20 gen 2007 · Romantic Depressive is not a terrible album, for Dixon hasn't lost his knack for reviving the simple joys of the frat-rock and blue-eyed soul acts of the mid-'60s. A few songs here--especially "Angel Angel," "What You Saw," and "Never Slow Down"--boast a rhythmic snap and real hooks.

In 1995, after taking time off to raise a family, Dixon released Romantic Depressive, a somewhat darker–themed album. In 1996, he produced the original cast recording of King Mackerel & The Blues Are Running (Songs And Stories of the Carolina Coast) which featured Bland Simpson ( Red Clay Ramblers ) and author/composer Jim Wann.
