Website. www.hnfms.com.cn. The First Middle School of Changsha ( simplified Chinese: 长沙市第一中学； traditional Chinese: 長沙市第一中學), colloquially known as First Middle School of Changsha, is a senior secondary school (7th through 12th grades) located in Changsha, Hunan Province, China.
During the reign of Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty, Tanzhou was abolished, and Changsha County, a first-level administrative unit, was established, but the jurisdiction area was reduced. Changsha's 3-tier administration was simplified to a 2-tier state and county system, eliminating the middle canton region.
The school and other three prestigious high schools in Changsha (including First High School of Changsha, Changjun High School and High School Attached to Hunan Normal University), are recognized "the Famous Four". In 2007, Yali was included in the "Top 100 Schools" list published by the Top One-Hundred Schools website in China.
Since then, the school has been changed to First Union County School, Changjun Public School, Hunan Changjun Joint Middle School, Changsha First Middle School (1951), and Changsha Second Middle School. As of 1984, its name has been reverted to Changjun High School.
