Elliot Easton (born Elliot Steinberg, December 18, 1953) is an American musician who is best known as the lead guitarist and backing vocalist for the American new wave band the Cars. His melodic guitar solos are an integral part of the band's music.
Slocum's first album entitled Somewhere Under Heaven, produced by Keith Olsen and himself, was recorded and mixed at "Goodnight L.A" studios. The CD has been considered more pop leaning than his later works, which are more decidedly Contemporary Christian.
Change No Change is the first and only solo album released by Elliot Easton of The Cars. It was originally released in 1985 by Elektra Records, re-released in 1996 by Elektra Traditions/Rhino Records, and again released by Wounded Bird in 2006.
Guitarist for The Cars, an influential 1970s/1980s band from Boston. Easton did some solo work before and after The Cars broke up in 1987. In 2006, The Cars re-appeared as The New Cars, with Easton joining an original band member and some new ones, including Todd Rundgren.
