Shirley Robin Letwin (17 February 1924 – 19 June 1993) was an American academic who lived in London.
Shirley Robin, philosopher and critic: born Chicago 17 February 1924; married 1944 William Letwin (one son); died London 19 June 1993.
Letwin argues that Thatcherism promoted a moral agenda rather than an economic doctrine or a political theory in order to achieve a fundamental realignment in British politics. She introduces a new term—"the vigorous virtues"—to describe what Thatcherites have aimed to cultivate in Individual Britons and In the country as a whole.
