Just William is the first book of children's short stories about the young school boy William Brown, written by Richmal Crompton, and published in 1922. The book was the first in the series of William Brown books which was the basis for numerous television series, films and radio adaptations.
Each book, with the exception of the novel Just William's Luck, is a collection of short stories. The series has spawned various television, film, theatre and radio adaptations. It also has a large fan following, with such groups as the Just William Society.
With Richard Lupino, Fred Emney, Basil Radford, Amy Veness. William Brown has a good-intentioned yet naughty nature that challenges his family's patience. He and his friends live various adventures weedening a garden, pursuing a secret agent, looking for a baby sister and deactivating a bomb.
