A wealth of history. Founded by Thomas Foley, an ironmaster, MP and landowner of the Great Witley Estate in Worcestershire, Old Swinford Hospital dates from 1667, just one year after the Great Fire of London.
Old Swinford Hospital was a hospital school founded in around 1667-70 by Thomas Foley, an ironmaster from the Great Witley Estate in Worcestershire. The school was built to accommodate up to 60 boys. In the mid 1950s it became a voluntary aided school and was expanded.
