Michael John Hugg (born 11 August 1940) is a British musician who was a founding member of the 1960s group Manfred Mann, and co-founder of the psychedelic jazz-fusion group, Manfred Mann Chapter Three.
Drummer, Vibraphonist, Keyboardist, and Songwriter. Mike Hugg started his musical career as drummer in a jazz band when he met piano player Manfred Mann (2) in the early 60s and hired him for his band, which was soon to become the Mann-Hugg Blues Brothers.
Mike Hugg (formerly Drums & Vibes, now Keyboards) In 1962 Mike hired Manfred to play with him in a jazz combo for a summer season at Butlins Holiday Camp. Returning to London they quickly formed the Mann-Hugg Quartet, with Mike on vibraphone and Manfred on piano.
