Year of the Nail (Spanish: Año uña) is a 2007 Mexican film written and directed by Jonás Cuarón. The film is told entirely through still photographs that the director took of his real life over the course of a year.
Jonás Cuarón seems to find his role as a director in his spectacular debut "Año Uña" (Nail Year), who tells the story about a girl form USA and a boy from Mexico who fall in love during an awful summer.

The serious artistic drive to meld fine photography with cinema is married to a charming tale of young almost-love in Jonas Cuaron’s sweet and memorable debut, “Year of the Nail.”
The film’s narrative is completely fictional and can be summarized as an impossible romance between Molly, a 21-year-old American, and Diego, a Mexican in the throes of puberty. Molly travels to Mexico, where she rents a room in Diego’s house.
