Hitchin Boys' School (HBS) is an 11–18 boys academy-status secondary school, with sixth form, located in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, England. Founded in 1632 by John Mattocke, the single-sex school currently educates around 1,500 boys.
Hitchin Boys' School - History. Our motto is per ardua ad alta, which means “Striving for Excellence”. itchin Boys’ School operates as an Academy Trust, providing a comprehensive and traditional single-sex school education which is both highly academic and rooted strongly in its community.
itchin Boys’ School Sixth Form is part of a consortium of three secondary schools in Hitchin, which also includes Hitchin Girls’ School and The Priory School. The three schools work together to enable over 800 students to have access to a wide range of academic and vocational courses.
