Oakdale Comprehensive School was a comprehensive school located in the village of Oakdale, Caerphilly Oakdale in Caerphilly county, Wales. The total enrollment was about 660 pupils aged 11 to 16. Sixth-form provision was at Coleg Gwent in Crosskeys and Ystrad Mynach College.

About Us. At Oakdale Comprehensive we have around 600 pupils, 40 teachers and 13 support staff making up the school community. The school occupies a large building and, as a result of the extensive refurbishment which is being carried out, we are able to enjoy a pleasant, safe and stimulating school environment.
Oakdale Comprehensive School was an 11 to 16 co-educational comprehensive school of just over 800 pupils. Sixth-form provision was at Coleg Gwent in Crosskeys , and Ystrad Mynach College . Islwyn High School , which replaced Oakdale Comprehensive School in 2016.

Councillors on Caerphilly’s planning committee this week gave their unanimous approval to the redevelopment of the former Oakdale Comprehensive School site. Classrooms were demolished there after the school closed in 2017 and pupils moved to the new Islwyn High School, around a mile to the north.
Oakdale Comprehensive School closed in June 2017. It joined with Pontllanfraith Comprehensive, with the two schools merging as one at the £25m Islwyn High School, which opened on the site of the former Oakdale Colliery.
