14 ago 2019 · Just when you think you get the meaning, it slips out of your hands. The middle section precedes a glorious big band echoing the sung verse melody, reminiscent of a Sinatra arrangement and leading back into the last verse, sung well by John Mitchell.
Phil Lanzon was born on March 23rd 1950. At the age of eight his mother arranged for piano lessons and three years later he got a taste for the stage. In 1966 he played covers of soul songs in his first band called THE LOOSE ENDS from south London. With this band he toured through Europe.
Uriah Heep are an English rock band formed in London in 1969. Their current lineup consists of guitarist Mick Box, keyboardist Phil Lanzon, lead vocalist Bernie Shaw, drummer Russell Gilbrook, and bassist Dave Rimmer. They have experienced numerous lineup changes throughout their 55-year career, leaving Box as the only remaining original member.
Yet despite Uriah Heep’s esteemed place in rock history being assured through the likes of Demons and Wizards and The Magician’s Birthday alone, the most inspiring chapter of the Uriah Heep saga must surely be that of the band’s fourth era, marked by keyboardist Phil Lanzon joining in 1986 followed by vocalist Bernie Shaw in 1987.
