Philip Sidney, 2nd Baron De L'Isle and Dudley of Penshurst, was the son of Philip Charles Sidney, 1st Baron De L'Isle and Dudley of Penshurst and Lady Sophia Fitz-Clarence. He married, firstly, Mary Foulis, daughter of Sir William Foulis of Ingleby, 8th Bt. and Mary Jane Ross, on 23 April 1850.
