Jaded activist Buddy asks for a ride to Santa Fe, New Mexico to help his sister Bonnie, who's been arrested on trumped up charges. The trip weaving reality and vision detours with vignettes of Native realities and ends with a collision of cultures, corporate, and federal interests. Based on the David Seals book.
The movie supplies a plot in order to explain why the two Indians need to take their journey, but the plot is the least interesting element of the film. It involves a scheme against Buddy, who is a tribal activist and opposes a phony land-rights grab that's being directed at some Indian territories.
