Dame Ann Louise Robinson DBE is a British medical doctor and academic. She is Regius Professor of Ageing at Newcastle University, and director of the Newcastle University Institute for Ageing.
Louise Robinson, a native New Yorker, studied concert bass for six years and attended the High School of Music and Art. A graduate of Howard University with a BFA, her professional career began at Washington, D.C.'s Arena Stage. Louise accepted Robert Hooks' invitation to become a member of the new, D.C. Black Repertory Company Acting Ensemble.

She was training to become a GP when she developed an interest in palliative care for patients with cancer. “At that point in time, the role of the GP was changing,” she says.
