Behind the Velvet Curtain is an album by Rebecca Pidgeon. She wrote all the songs except for a cover version of "Wouldn't It Be Nice" by the Beach Boys and "Been and Gone", which she wrote with David Mamet. Four songs appeared in the movie Redbelt, including "When You Were Mine" with backing vocals by Luciana Souza.

Singer/songwriter and actress Rebecca Pidgeon favors the organic approach on Behind the Velvet Curtain, which was produced by Larry Klein in Los Angeles and includes four songs that were used in the movie Redbelt.

She made a series of albums with him in the aughts, lounge-y Tough on Crime, the bossa nova influenced Behind the Velvet Curtain, which included her Beach Boys’ cover “ Wouldn’t It Be Nice?” and Slingshot. It was while working on Slingshot in 2011 that Pidgeon first started writing with David Batteau.
