Website. conncoll .edu. Connecticut College ( Conn) is a private liberal arts college in New London, Connecticut. Originally chartered as Thames College, it was founded in 1911 as the state's only women's college, a response to Wesleyan University having closed its doors to female students in 1909.
Each year, we have more than 8,500 applicants for a class of approximately 500 students. We look for smart, interesting students with diverse perspectives and the ability to excel academically. We're also looking for important personal qualities like integrity, empathy and intellectual curiosity.
